Luna Fay - Moonshade

All painted, blushed, wigged and winged.
There are quite a lot of Fairies sitting on moons out there, and most I have seen are sitting on a waning moon and all in white....
My little Moonshade sleeps on a waxing moon, nestled in the branches of an Oak tree.

A Tiny wood Pixie's face can just be seen above the grass.

Winter Fay 2011

My little Winter Fay is finally Finished!! !!
She has been sculpted in 2 parts, The fay is attached to the tree base by a brass rod that goes down her left leg.  She was going to have TLS wings .. . . but instead has Angelina Fiber wings, they were a pair I had made for ebay. . .. but they just looked so perfect on her I had to keep them..

Chaste - Pin Up art doll

My finished art doll for the International Art Doll Registry Pin Up Show. Very very Pink....... This was my first attempt at sculpting clothing, I am not to sure weather I like sculpting the clothing but it did turn out quite well.

Works in Progress

Just a few things I have been working on over the past few weeks, nothing like having a bit of variety in ones life..

My Luna Fay Stand/base is almost finished, I just have to sculpt the base of the tree now... maybe some twisted roots and a nasty pixie face hiding.. somewhere. who knows..

Winter 2011, Well yes I am a bit behind on my Season Fairies for this year, but all things come in their own time. She is going to have TLS wings, maybe a double set, very long. She is being sculpted from Prosculpt.

IADR Pin up. She is all finished as far as sculpting goes, just needs to be blushed/painted and wigged. I am trying to get the stuff together for her base.. So hopefully I will get her finished in time. She is based on an anime style picture I did years ago. In the drawing she only has the socks and gloves on.. nothing else.. She has been sculpted from a Fimo mix.

My Ball Jointed Art Doll. She has come out quite well (considering I had no real idea what I was doing) I find it rather intriguing, quite different to sculpt, but in a good way. There are a few thing I will do differently next time, but I am happy with how she has turned out. She has also been sculpted from a Fimo mix.

Something a little new.. Nightswood Pendants.

I came across Tim Holtz Idea-ology Pocket Watch's while at one of our local Scrapbook/Craft shops. Looked interesting..  I spent the next few days thinking of how cute it would look with a squashed pixies inside...

I love how my Winter Titania cam out, I used Pearl Ex Powder on her face to give her skin an almost luminous look when the light hits it.
Finished Pendants.
Left: Wood Goblins,  Top: Winter Titania,  Right: Squashed Pixie.

Autumn Fay 2011

Well it has been a long time coming, my little Autumn Fay... She is finally Finished!!
I put the final finishing touches on her late last night.. and am quite pleased with how she has turned out.
I seem to be starting new piece before I have finished the last at the moment, I have a little treeroot pixie waiting to be clothed as well as a new (trial) ball jointed doll in the making and my winter fay....

Anyway.... My Autumn Fay for 2011.

The Move!

So the move went quite well. Took us about 5 days to get all our stuff over.. My aunt and uncle came down with their tandem trailer to help us move all the heavy furniture.. My sister and her husband came down to give us a hand as well.. Thankfully we were only moving up the street!

We are now settled into the new house. Its light and bright, quite a change from the old place. It amazes me just how warm this place is.

Moving !! and The Keeper's Fable

It has been a while since I posted....

Been so busy for the past few weeks. We are currently packing to move. The new place we are going to is new built, so it will be nice and warm.. which will be a pleasant change from this 100year old freezing house... I have been trying to finish off my Autumn Fay and my piece for the IADR Elders Show in-between packing and chilblains (a parting gift from this old house).

Will post some more pictures of my new dolls once we are in the house.

Two new pixies - Samkin and Turgool !!

Just finished these two little ones off today!!

Samkin loves nothing more then to play with the wild Fay of Nightswood, so much so, that he have been given his very own 'wild wings' by The Earthen Fay herself. Samkin can not fly as high as his wild Fay friends, or as fast, but he is quite proud of his Fay wings.. even if they do tire him out.. .

Turgool is a charming little pixie who lives at the edge of the Ashen Fens, just south of the heart of Nightswood. He spends his days gathering rare herbs and chatting to the (often strange) fen creatures.
Tea and sweets await any who wander south to visit this little fellow.

These two are currently up on ebay.

Della and Dirlyn - two new felted bears

I have had these two little bears sitting on my work table (well one of them) for the past 3 weeks, I finally got a bit of time and finished them off.
I have given these little ones vellum wings instead of transparent ones, the pastel colours come out better on vellum paper because it is opaque, the transparent wings still have a brightness about them even when it is a pastel colour… not even sure if that makes any sense.. but anyway..

They are both up on ebay.

On another note, my flocking arrived today!!!!!!! I can now finally finish my autumn fay!!

The Goblin Ball

It has been a while since I posted. I have been so busy of late, running around making custom wings for people and my ebay ones on top of that. I have also just finished off 2 little felt bears and not to forget my entry for the IADR's May Show.

The Goblin Ball
By Ksheyna Nightswood

She was inspired by the ballroom scene from The Labyrinth.
I had quite a lot of fun with this one. I spent all of May designing her, and most of June was finding the right materials. The mask is one of my favourite parts to this doll ( that and the little goblin), it started out as a flat piece of foil, shaped then cut down to size. (I plan on making a few life-size masks to go on my wall based on this one.)
The hardest parts... those eyelashes. I lost a few... more then a few, one moment they were there the next gone!! The most enlightening part was her hair, I usually keep my dolls hair simple and sweet, but not this one, simple and sweet would have been far to out of place. I found a YouTube video 'Labyrinth Ballroom Scene Hair' which was stunning, there was no way I could have done it with out it.
